The au pair program is awesome. But being/having a struggling au pair can turn the placement into a nightmare. Even confident and independent au pairs will experience loneliness or homesickness, isolation, and will have trouble finding a balance.

Aupairtrip started in Chicago, IL, when I was still an au pair and launched the Instagram account @aupairtrip. What began as a meme-based page quickly grew into a strong community, connecting girls in real life.
Messages kept coming in, girls looking for friends, support, and travel companions during their year abroad.
Later, Alexis joined the adventure, and together we turned this growing community into a dedicated platform.
Today, Aupairtrip is more than an app : a global community, a travel companion, and a trusted resource for au pairs and host families.
Our mission remains the same : help young people abroad feel less alone, better prepared, and truly supported, wherever they are in the world.
